Defender, 5’7” La Jolla Country Day School Class of 2028
My name is Skylar Socol and I am a versatile defender. Some of the key attributes I bring to my team are winning balls in the air both offensively and defensively, defending in 1v1 situations by anticipating my opponents and well-timed tackles, and composed possession-based defense. I also excel at advancing with speed, distribution across all distances, and possess high soccer IQ with good game vision.
I am a freshman at La Jolla Country Day School balancing challenging academics with two varsity sports and maintain a 3.7 unweighted GPA. I was named captain and MVP of the women’s soccer team and was the second leading scorer in the Coastal League. I enjoyed developing my attacking skills and stood out for beating double teams, creating scoring opportunities and finishing consistently with both feet. This track and field season, I am among the league leaders in the 100m, 400m, 4x100m and 4x400m.
I support my athletic training with time at the gym working on my strength and speed. Some of my PRs include: 10-meter sprint : 1.67 seconds; broad jump: 8’2”; squat: 205 lbs, box jump: 42”.
I love spending time with friends, attending school sporting events and Padres games. I also volunteer regularly throughout San Diego and will serve as president of my National Charity League class next year.
