Mia has been playing at San Diego Surf for the past 10 years of her youth soccer journey, building lifetime connections and playing with dedicated teammates while working with an amazing coaching staff. She plays left back and right back, and sometimes the 7/11. She plays calmly on the ball, looking to create opportunities on the field and bringing up the energy when she steps onto the pitch. Mia uses her speed to dribble up the field and create chances, but her speed especially comes in clutch when recovering the ball and stopping plays in the defensive half. She uses her physicality and aggressiveness when needed, as she has a great urgency to prevent any possible goal opportunities from being created by opponents. Mia has been invited to multiple U.S Women’s Soccer I.D. Centers. Wherever she gets the opportunity to showcase her strengths on the field she does so with a positive mindset and openness to criticism. 

Off the field, she has an upbeat personality and loves to make anyone around her smile with her humor. She’s very passionate about making a difference in the environments she works in, as she is a part of her school’s Black Student Union, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club (FCA), and Christians In Action Club. She has a good balance of her efforts and work habits in school while still making time to improve herself in soccer. Outside of school and soccer, Mia likes to prioritize her faith in God and read her Bible, which helps her juggle all the responsibilities that come her way. She likes to listen to gospel music, go shopping with her family, spend time with friends, and laugh with her sisters (Nya and Ava).
