Mackenzie got her nickname, Z, when she started playing soccer. At Surf, she plays the center defensive midfield position with precision and agility. Her game revolves around orchestrating sharp, quick passes to control the tempo of the match and create scoring opportunities for her team. Z is calm on the ball and has a range of passing abilities. Utilizing both feet, she maneuvers to create space and drive the ball forward, feeding the attacking midfielders and forwards with accuracy. In transition, she provides defensive cover, sprinting back to support the center backs and stopping any potential goal-scoring threats. Z’s skill on the pitch has earned recognition, including being ranked in Prep Soccer’s regional class of 2026, invitation to 2024 USYNT ID Center, and she’s attended San Diego Wave ID Camps, where she has showcased her talent. Beyond the soccer field, Mackenzie’s academic achievements stand as proof of her dedication and drive. She takes challenging coursework including honors and AP classes and she’s committed to her education. 

When not playing soccer, Z can be found working out, at the beach, or enjoying time with family and friends. She spends time in Lake Tahoe wakeboarding or going on hikes in the summer and skiing/snowboarding in the winter.
